ASAR Humanity and PIKDM Distribute Rice and Clean Water Aid to Communities in Cianjur

ASARNews, Cianjur— The Malaysian Organization for Welfare and Da’wah Knowledge (PIKDM) collaborated with ASAR Humanity to deliver basic necessities to earthquake survivors in Cianjur on Friday (06/11).

One of the aid packages distributed included 50 sacks of rice, each weighing 5 kilograms, which were handed directly to women in Nyalindung Village, Cugenang District, Cianjur Regency, West Java.

Andy, a member of ASAR Humanity’s water and infrastructure program team, explained why the aid was distributed to the community in Cianjur. “The impact of the 2022 Cianjur earthquake is still being felt by the people today, which is why we continue to reach out to the community in Cianjur,” He said.

In addition to rice packages, PIKDM also provided 8,000 liters of clean water via water tanks delivered directly to the residential areas in Talaga Village, Cugenang District. “They have had no water source since the earthquake, as the water receded during the disaster, and from that time onward, water has been hard to access there,” Andy explained when contacted at ASAR Humanity’s headquarters.

This is not the first time ASAR Humanity has reached out to the people of Cianjur. As a humanitarian organization, ASAR Humanity was actively involved in aid distribution following the earthquake in 2022. The organization consistently provided various forms of assistance to earthquake victims, including food supplies, clean water, emergency tents, clothing, necessities for mothers and children, medicines, hygiene kits, and infrastructure such as temporary shelters, schools, and more. Currently, ASAR Humanity continues its efforts to support the recovery of communities affected by the earthquake in Cianjur.
